I try to have a smoothie every morning for breakfast. I try to mix it up using almond milk and different frozen fruits…but my FAVORITE smoothie is chocolate almond milk, a frozen banana, and a scoop of peanut butter!

Fun Ways to Eat Fruits & Vegetables!

I always tell my students that I want them to eat their colors…meaning I want them to eat more fruits and vegetables! These pictures are a few ways to get creative with eating more fruits and vegetables, and it’s a fun way for the family to prepare a snack together!

Veggie Skeleton

A Vegetable Skeleton!  You can use carrots, tomatoes, broccoli, celery, mushrooms, cauliflower, olives and a low-fat ranch dip/vegetable dip to create the bones of a skeleton!

Who doesn’t love Elmo?!  Here is an easy platter where you can use tomatoes, carrots, olives and low-fat ranch dip/vegetable dip to create the face of Elmo!

U.S.A.! Here are two quick and easy ways to make a fruit platter for any Memorial Day Party, Fourth of July Party or a “just because” summer cookout!  Show the red, white and blue colors with strawberries, raspberries, bananas and blueberries!

Fruit Cake

A different type of birthday cake made of fresh fruit!  Get creative by cutting out the insides of a watermelon, honeydew melon and cantaloupe to make the layers of the cake.  You can make borders of the cake layers by placing different grapes, blueberries and pineapples to give it more color!

Fruit Rainbow

This is a great way to show the beautiful colors of the rainbow!  Kids can easily help to create the different colors of the rainbow–strawberries, cantaloupes, pineappes, grapes and blueberries!

For easier ways to eat pieces of fruit, you can make skewers for individual people to grab and eat!  You can either just cut them up into small pieces, or if you have shape cut-outs, you can use those to place them on the skewers for a different look!

I LOVE peanut butter, and any reason to add peanut butter to a snack is fine by me!  Peanut butter is (in moderation) is a great source of protein.  Here are some fun ways to add protein, fruits and vegetables into fun snacks!
